With my education in architecture and urban planning, I have been working in various roles in energy-efficient construction, sustainable urban development and sustainable energy supply since 2000. As part of my doctorate on sustainable renovation at the Technical University of Hamburg, I was intensively involved in research on these topics. I worked for many years in a leading role in project development for sustainable real estate and neighborhood developments and advise energy suppliers on municipal heat planning. Since 2008, I have been passing on my knowledge from research and practice in lectures and consulting mandates, among others as a guest lecturer at Hafen City University Hamburg and as an expert for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as part of the Energy Efficiency Export Initiative.

Future of cities

How can we plan cities for tomorrow already today? I outline a vision of sus-tainable, liveable cities that can with-stand climate change - from mobility to greenery.

Circular economy

How does circular economy work in construction? I explain where recycling and re-use stands today, what is already possible and where the trends are heading - technically and economically.

Energy transition

What is the future of energy supply? I look at the energy-transition from renewable production to heat and power supply and show what the change means - for the environment and for us.
